Eastern Whispersss

Eastern Whispersss continues from the work developed during my residency at Hammer + Sky on Brier Island, expanding the house motif and its relationship to place, structure, and collected material.

The Hammer + Sky works focused on contained assemblages of found objects held within geometric plywood frameworks, this body of work moves further into the island’s built and cultural landscape. Fishing sheds, waterfront structures, buoys, rope, and everyday coastal detritus become both reference points and material starting points for new forms.

Together, the two series form an ongoing investigation into how place is constructed through both human habitation and the materials left behind. Eastern Whispersss extends this dialogue beyond the shoreline fragments, drawing more directly from architectural forms, community traces, and the visual language of the found objects.
